Dear Sunnymeadows students and families,
I am greatly honored to be the new Principal of Sunnymeadows Elementary School. From my very first day here, I learned that this school has much to be proud of; the staff is amazing, student achievement rates are rising, and the community is incredibly supportive and involved.
We are also very proud that Sunnymeadows was honored with a silver medal from the state of California for our Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports program (PBIS). We believe that it is our role to teach students the behavioral and social skills they need to know to be successful at school. As a result, the school is incredibly safe, and there have been very few student suspensions.
You will be happy to know that the school has a tremendous amount of technology available for students to use. We have our kindergarten through 2nd grade students using computers at least once a week, and in grades 3-6, students have their own Chromebooks available for daily learning experiences. The staff is also trained to use Google Drive, Compass Math, Go Math and our new Wonders English curriculum which has large amounts of digital components.
Sunnymeadows is an AVID elementary school, which means we are preparing all of our students to go to college. Our staff is committed to teaching organizational skills and higher level thinking skills to the students so they can become independent thinkers and learners.
Due to your commitment in ensuring that students are here at school every day, and on time, Sunnymeadows celebrated having over a 95% attendance rate in the past year. We value all that you do to be a partner with us in helping your child to be successful. Please don’t hesitate to get involved, be a member of the school’s booster club, or volunteer to work in a classroom.
